A brawler mech is a mech that tries to out DPS its opponent at shorter range combat. The hardest part of a brawling mech is getting into close range with it opponent so as to utilize its generally higher DPS. This can be aided in one of two ways: Speed and Armor. You can either choose to increase your speed so as to close a distance gap faster or you can choose to increase the survival ability of your mech by investing heavily into armor and structure durability. Please see the skill tree Survival section for more information about skill tree armor paths. These mechs are susceptible to both Skirmisher and Sniper Style mechs. So be sure you are willing to take some long distance damage in order to close the distance gap to your effective range. You will also need to study maps and terrains very well and make good use of cover.
